Grüner Veltliner, Austria’s greatest gift to the world, is the most food-friendly of grapes – and nobody makes better examples than Weingut Mehofer, founded in Neudegg, north-west of Vienna in 1709.
Judith Mehofer will join Spectator drinks editor, Jonathan Ray, in the boardroom to introduce us to two expressions of her family’s delicious fruit-driven, organically produced Grüner as well as their famously elegant takes on the indigenous Austrian varieties Roter Veltliner and Zweigelt. To round it all off, we will enjoy the newest release of their tasty, small production Pinot Noir over a fine four-course lunch.
