The Art of Thriller Writing – a Masterclass with Adam LeBor, Friday 29 January 2027, Spectator Boardroom, 10am - 4pm
There’s never been a better time to write a thriller. With the world in turmoil and new threats emerging we need brave heroes and courageous heroines to take on the bad guys.
Join Adam LeBor, Spectator contributor, veteran thriller critic for the Financial Times and author of seven thrillers, for a day-long masterclass on the art of thriller writing.
The day is based around the principles of storytelling that will show you how to deliver an enthralling narrative. From conjuring up a complex, haunted protagonist to crafting deadly obstacles and a thundering climactic clash, Adam will share his deep insights and experience about what makes a thriller work.
In addition, Charles Cumming, one of Britain’s best-known thriller writers, will join us over lunch to share his insight and knowledge.
But the masterclass is not only for would-be authors. It is aimed at everyone who wants to master the craft of storytelling – a vital skill in today’s business world.
A copy of Adam’s international conspiracy thriller The Reykjavik Assignment will be included in the price of your ticket along with refreshments, lunch, wine, beer and soft drinks. Limited to just 15 places
