The Earl and Countess of Carnarvon of Highclere Castle, Wednesday 6 August, 6.30-8pm, The Spectator Garden

We are delighted to welcome The Earl and Countess of Carnarvon of Highclere Castle, known to many as The Real Downton Abbey to The Spectator garden.  As well as running a historic home they farm 5000 acres.  Over a Highclere Gin & Tonic, they will talk to us about the excitement and implications of opening up their home to a film crew and the challenges of running a large estate; the ups and downs of being part of such a famous TV show, and their farming and diversification projects at the estate which consists mainly crops as well as approximately 1,500 ewes, horses and some rare breed pigs.
