Drinks editor Jonathan Ray has yet more treats for wine-loving subscribers this summer. South Africa is our destination, via Old Queen Street, as we explore the wines of three of the country’s greatest estates. No need to be shy – these friendly events are aimed at the enthusiastic amateur.  

Just 20 minutes by car from Cape Town, Klein Constantia, founded in 1685, lies in an enviable spot in the upper foothills of Constantiaberg. They make superb wines here, ranging from elegant, stylish Method Cap Classique sparklers to a selection of stunning Sauvignon Blancs, the fabled Anwilka Red Blend and, of course, one of the finest wines in the world, the sublime dessert wine Vin de Constance.
