Spring 2022 Winemaker’s Lunches hosted by Spectator drinks editor Jonathan Ray and held in the Spectator boardroom. Book early as spaces are limited.
Sir Mark Elder on Sir Edward Elgar: one of our greatest conductors talking about one of our greatest composers with whom he has a particular affinity (they even share a birthday). Sir Mark is one of Elgar’s finest interpreters and he will talk about his admiration for the great man over a three course lunch washed down by some suitably English sparkling wine and other fine bottles, introduced by drinks editor Jonathan Ray.
The fact that Elgar often stayed as a guest of Frank Schuster at 22 Old Queen Street – home, now, to The Spectator – and wrote and performed some of his music there, will only give greater meaning to the occasion.
